Gun Detection Canines

The Unit utilizes canines trained to detect and find firearms. These dogs are utilized to find firearms discarded by suspects who flee from officers, concealed within vehicles or hidden in houses or other locations which are being searched pursuant to a search warrant or other probable cause. These highly trained dogs conduct hundreds of searches each year, finding weapons which may have not been found otherwise.
